You are a hero, an osteohero! Whilst you might not wear your pants on the outside, are you swooshing your osteopathic cape and demonstrating your osteopathic superpowers to the world? You can be sure that those that put themselves out there, do not have much space in their appointment diaries.
There are hundreds of ways that you can shine your light into your community. Marketing your incredible skills and demonstrating the difference you make to your patients’ lives is key in the development of your osteopathic business. And this goes for Associates too; you are also involved in a business and so need to be building your patient list too.
In my Osteobiz Club there are many Osteopaths working hard with me, week by week, to build their Osteopathic Practices. Each one has their own particular superpowers. One is brilliant at treating severe trauma, another goes after sports related injuries and another clever lady now accesses her human market by treating their pets first. Genius.
Therefore the main thing we discuss in the Club in the first month or so is their niche market or Perfect Patient as I call them. And in most cases this is an absolute revelation to them.
So think about what you might be particularly interested in treating, for example: children, sports injuries, manual workers or office staff. Each type has a predilection towards particular problems caused by their lifestyle or age. Consistently getting the word out that Osteopathic treatment can reduce pain and improve certain conditions will consistently bring in new business.
I can hear the objections from you!
And I know that you can treat anyone and everyone. But in marketing terms you cannot appeal to the whole world of possibility. So you must target one niche at a time who will hear what you say specifically to them and react to your message.
No one run of the mill ever stands out in a crowd. In this busy world online and offline, it doesn’t pay to be beige, shy, bland or characterless. That’s why I’m the mad woman with a megaphone! In the world of business coaching for Osteopaths, there isn’t anyone else out there who works, thinks or operates like me.
So how can you demonstrate your own Osteopathic Superpowers?
I believe in low cost/no cost marketing and that’s one area where I’m good at generating ideas. Here’s a few questions to get you thinking:
- Where could you go to explain the BENEFITS of Osteopathic treatment?
- How could you DEMONSTRATE your skills to a group?
- What could you say on social media that would RESONATE with your crowd?
- What could you CREATE which would entice new patients?
- How could you COMMUNICATE your message clearly to your patient list?
- What else can you LEARN in order to provide a better service?
- Who could you COLLABORATE with?
Keep swooshing your cape and keep getting the message out there. You can borrow my megaphone if you like!
