How the Osteobiz Blueprint creates a thriving Practice!

osteobiz blueprintHaving worked with many hundreds of worldwide Osteopaths, I’ve established that there is indeed an Osteobiz Blueprint which consistently works. And it doesn’t matter the size or location of the Practice either.

When the plan is applied systematically and diligently, it quickly works to gear up the business, increase new patient numbers and generate a more robust and regular income.

And if we tweak the plan, execute the plan and then rinse and repeat, that boom and bust booking issue, that bedevils many, is a thing of the past.

Change continues at an unprecedented pace and those who fail to innovate will likely fall by the wayside of this technological revolution. Who would have ever thought for instance, even two years ago, that the meteoric rise of Uber would have severely damaged the highly established businesses of our beloved London Black Taxis and decimated the concrete monopoly that was Addison Lee? Their previous domination of the UK private taxi market has been royally smashed to pieces like a tantruming toddler kicking down his Lego skyscraper!

What we can learn from these changes?

Decades ago, my aged Great Aunt Sally’s mantra was delivered somberly and regularly whilst, above her angular specs, her pinpoint pupils lasered into mine – think Dame Edna with a blue rinse!

“Move with the times, Gillian!” she would assert in a falsetto tone, whilst warning of the demise of all those who didn’t.

This was to become a highly valued piece of advice from someone who had managed to escape from a large family of uneducated and poor farmers in Picklescott, a remote Shropshire village. With dogged determination, somehow she ended up training as a senior Nurse in London and ultimately was hired to nurse none other than baby Princess Margaret!  She went on to live an incredible life with koalas and kangaroos in Australia and returned a wealthy widow to live a plush existence – to my young eyes at least. It tickled me that she regularly terrorised the local Bank Manager and repeatedly tested him over where her money was invested.

But I digress.

As you know, I bang on about social media marketing as being an essential element of the Osteobiz Blueprint – something which just a few years ago would have been a ridiculous idea! And this is not only because I find it fun, but because in these times, it jolly well works a treat – if you know what you’re doing of course! (Otherwise it becomes an energy sapper and time drain.)

The Osteobiz Blueprint will continue to evolve

Complacency has no place in a world which continues to change and advance at an eye-watering pace.  I know that my Blueprint will also need to evolve and remain current. Indeed, my largest investment every year is in my own development and I’ve just hired a leading Business Coach to enable me to continue to innovate at speed.

Because, if I want to help many tens of thousands more people in pain to find osteopathy, then I need to find many more Osteopaths who want to unleash their real potential and grow an Osteobiz which thrives. I love to work with those who want to build a stronger business and help them to deploy the key elements of the Osteobiz Blueprint.

To stay top of my game, I also read or listen to around 2-3 business books of one type or another every month.  Novels are no longer of interest to me, such is my voracious appetite for the latest strategies. Distilling all this information, sifting out the newest concepts which apply to creating a thriving Practice, ensures that I can keep the Osteobiz Blueprint fresh, relevant and on point.

Back in the distant 1970’s, when we wore all things tartan, plucked out all our eyebrows and fell hopelessly in love with Donny Osmond, I learned how to make deliciously light fatless sponge cakes with my Great Aunt Sally. More importantly, I also learned a fundamental and timeless lesson of business and life which has forever rung in my ears, “Move with the times, Gillian, move with the times!”

If we think that the past ten years have brought vast and significant changes in the way we generate new patients and pursue business growth, then we had better hold onto our hats! The world is now taking a stomach churning, white knuckle ride on the most epic roller coaster journey ever undertaken since the dinosaurs heard a rumbling in the distance and figured there was something up…
