Quick Facebook Tips

Facebook marketing

I agree with Mary!

I’m forever encouraging you to use social media and in particular Facebook in your marketing mix. Hey it’s free and I’ve certainly built up a thriving business this way.

Many of you are understanding the fact that consistent and persistent posting on your Facebook business page is crucial to getting noticed and are getting great results. Indeed this week one of my Clients got very excited when her exact Perfect Patient engaged with her on Facebook, called her up and booked in!  We were both delighted with this because she has created a very specific niche and the new patient fitted the bill exactly.

This demonstrates just how well nurturing relationships via social can work for your business.

Here’s what I see in my own Facebook newsfeed

Something to bear in mind however, is that most Osteopaths choose a business name which isn’t their own name. However, people buy people not business names. This is particularly true in your business and mine where a good deal of trust needs to be built up before any money changes hands – or indeed any clothing is removed!

Obviously, I ‘like’ a great many Osteobiz Facebook pages and lots of their posts come zipping through my newsfeed. Now if I see something great, I like and share it to my biz page because I know it’s something you will appreciate.  That in turn helps my page to get a higher ‘reach’ ie you share it on to your page and it gets shared on from there.  All those views of that post are credited back to my page.

Using this method, I’ve helped Clients get in front of thousands of potential patients. So it’s worth ramping up your social media marketing and in particular on Facebook.

Here’s my quick Facebook tips!

  1. Post items which are of interest to YOUR kind of patients, not that are of interest to your peers!  So anatomical stuff is out!  Think about what your patients worry about, think about what they ask about and think about what they suffer with. Speak all that right back to them in your posts.
  2. Give them hope and reassurance! Many will believe that they have to suffer with their debilitating problem for the rest of their lives. They may think that there is no solution or at least respite from their issues. So give them hope and comfort that there may indeed be another way.  Help them to understand how Osteopathy might be a great solution to their problem.
  3. Come out from behind your logo! As I’ve said, there are a great many Osteopathic Practices whizzing through my newsfeed. But do you know what? I struggle to remember who the Osteopath is behind the name. Is that Mark or Steve?? Is it Sue or Helen?? So how about coming right out from behind that ‘professional’ screen and being YOU? That amazing, skilled and pretty darned awesome human being that you are – show yourself to us and your potential patients. Sign off on  your posts ~ Sue or ~ Matt because you will ultimately get far better interaction going when people know it’s you posting and not your marketing machine…
